DUBAI, UAE, April 04th, 2017– Genetec Inc. (“Genetec”), a leading provider of open architecture security and public safety solutions, remains committed to instill confidence in its ability to address the Middle East region's increasing demand for state-of-the-art and highly advanced video analytics and surveillance systems. The company's upbeat attitude follows after a recent industry report from 6Wresearch, a leading IT market research firm, forecasting that the UAE video surveillance segment is poised to reach USD 200 million in the next four years—with the Middle East segment soaring to USD 1.8 Billion in 2021.
In a related report from Research & Markets, the global video surveillance industry is predicted to grow at a compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) or 11.87 per cent from 2016 to 2021—reaching a total market size of USD 48.69 billion. One particular area of the report—the IP video surveillance segment—has demonstrated aggressive growth over the last few months and has started to outperform the analog video surveillance segment. Growth in this category can be attributed to industry key players like Genetec Inc., that has helped transform the physical IP security industry by providing customers with a unified, open architecture portfolio of video surveillance, access control, and automatic license plate recognition (ALPR) solutions.
“Genetec is more committed than ever to deliver the best technology that addresses the continuous growth and demand for enterprise-grade, unified physical IP security solutions in the region, largely driven by key factors like the growing construction market, rising security concerns and increased IT spending,” said Firas Jadalla, Regional Director - Middle East and Africa, Genetec. “Middle East countries like the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Qatar hold a majority of the revenues for the video surveillance segment and are now taking the lead in upgrading to and adopting IP-based surveillance systems.”
The flagship of the Genetec IP security portfolio is Security Center, the company’s open-architecture, unified security platform that blends IP security systems within a single intuitive interface to simplify operations. From access control, video surveillance, and ALPR to communications, intrusion, and analytics—Security Center empowers organizations through enhanced situational awareness, unified command and control, and connectivity to the cloud.
“Genetec products have been built on an open architecture, based on a design that aims to leverage the maximum benefits of network technology. This allows customers to choose from a diverse portfolio of edge devices and third party systems, which in turn, provides them with the unsurpassed flexibility of allowing the system to further evolve and grow alongside the needs of customers,” concluded Jadalla.
The company recently launched Genetec Retail Sense, a unique retail analytics solution designed to help retailers measure offline conversion, understand long-term traffic and engagement trends and collect powerful analytic data using the cameras they already have in place to transform existing video surveillance content into powerful consumer insights. The new application will filter and analyze incoming video surveillance data to produce actionable intelligence about store operations, buying patterns, and trends. Armed with this information, marketing, operational and merchandising staff working at boutique-style stores or large multi-retail sites can now improve their customers' experience, increase consumer engagement, and positively affect in-store profitability.
Genetec delivers analytic insights through detailed imagery and reports, offering easily accessible customer interaction and business intelligence data that provide sales, marketing and customer engagement departments with better understanding of shopping and customer trends.
