Dubai Courts' ‘Shoor' selected as one of initiatives of seven emirates for ‘Year of Giving 2017'

UAE, March 25, 2017 – In line with the directives of H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE President, to promote the culture of giving and instill the value of generosity in society, the Dubai Courts have reaffirmed anew their commitment to the government’s initiative declaring 2017 as the ‘Year of Giving.’ As a demonstration of this commitment, the Dubai Courts will focus on three main pillars of social responsibility, volunteer work, and nation building as exemplified by its ‘Shoor’ initiative. As part of the relevant national programs of the seven emirates launched by the Higher National Committee for the Year of Giving, the ‘Shoor’ initiative aims to raise people’s confidence in the judiciary by offering free legal consultations given by specialized lawyers.

Taresh Eid Al Mansouri, Director General of Dubai Courts, said: “We are proud that ‘Shoor’ has been selected as one of the initiatives of the seven emirates for the ‘Year of Giving 2017.’ As part of our contribution to the initiative launched by H.H. Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE President, ‘Shoor’ not only reflects the values of philanthropy and giving but also promotes the importance of serving our nation and being socially responsible individuals. The Dubai Courts will relentlessly support all efforts designed to serve the community and its members and provide effective and real services to the people. Our program offers free consultations to 1000 customer at an estimated cost of three million dirhams to be given by volunteer lawyers from 81 accredited law firms in Dubai. We dedicate this initiative to the memory of all UAE martyrs as we honor their sacrifices for our country.”

The ‘Shoor’ initiative is a joint program of the Dubai Courts and law firms in Dubai seeking to promote excellence in providing legal services to deliver optimized customer satisfaction and happiness. The program provides legal consultations on civil, labor, real estate, and commercial cases, in addition to criminal and personal lawsuits. The initiative also provides free consultations on all types of litigation, disputes, temporary and urgent matters, and implementation issues.
