Ingredients brand of Fonterra eyes Gulfood as springboard to increase MEA trade
Dubai, UAE, February 25, 2017: After more than 40 years’ partnering with Middle Eastern and African (MEA) food and beverage manufacturers, NZMP, the ingredients brand of Fonterra – the world’s largest exporter of dairy products - is eyeing its first standalone presence at Gulfood as the springboard to increased MEA trade opportunities.
With one of the broadest dairy ingredient offerings in the world, NZMP will leverage its ‘New Zealand advantage’ - a provenance-led proposition underpinned by the global dairy leader’s market-leading grass-fed dairy expertise and commitment to food safety and quality.
Santiago Aon, General Manager Middle East for NZMP, says Gulfood is a strategic event that offers the NZMP team the chance to connect with key customers and continue identifying market trends.
“Our focus for the future is helping our Middle East and African customers meet the changing demands of consumers as the region grows and consumer attitudes focus more on nutrition and health awareness,” said Aon.
“Consumers in the region are increasingly seeking dairy products from a trusted source and want to know where their food is from. They are looking for natural ingredients, minimal additives and clean labels with a clearly stated origin. With NZMP ingredients, manufacturers are able to meet this demand.”
To further highlight the ‘New Zealand advantage’, delegates visiting the NZMP stand at Gulfood can get up close to a New Zealand dairy farm via an interactive 360° NZMP Virtual Reality experience, and see for themselves how NZMP unlocks the goodness of New Zealand grass-fed dairy and shares it with the world. Delegates can also create products in the NZMP virtual store and explore ingredients and solutions that can help them grow their business.
“We want Middle Eastern and African food and beverage manufacturers to see first-hand how they can use our world-leading dairy expertise to give them a real market advantage,” adds Aon. “Delegates will also be able to sample ingredients and meet NZMP dairy experts to explore innovative solutions to their business requirements.”
NZMP ingredients available for sampling at Gulfood include NZMP Spreadable Butter that spreads straight from the fridge and NZMP Pastry Butter used within delicious fresh croissants and Danish pastries. NZMP will also be showcasing a range of NZMP milk powders and innovative high-protein dairy beverage applications.
With NZMP responsible for 22 per cent of all dairy products traded worldwide, the dairy sector leader offers customers 3,800 product SKUs within five product families – powders, dairy fats, cheese, paediatrics and proteins. Manufacturers using NZMP ingredients can leverage the advantage of New Zealand grass-fed dairy, as well as benefit from dairy expertise that leads the world.
