Abu Dhabi, UAE – 28 December 2016:  VPS Healthcare donates a total of $ 1 Million to the Emirates Red Crescent towards their ongoing campaign for Yemenis.  This comes at a time when we are all set to welcome 2017, the Year of Giving, as declared by H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates.

Dr. Shamsheer Vayalil, Managing Director, VPS Healthcare, handed over the cheque and letter of donation for medicines to Dr. Mohammed Atiq Al Falahi, Secretary General of Emirates Red Crescent.

Speaking at the Red Crescent office, Dr. Mohammed Atiq Al Falahi said, “VPS Healthcare has supported us in many of our initiatives for Yemen this year. It is overwhelming to see such a noble gesture on part of Dr. Shamsheer to come forward and help people in the time of need. We look forward to their continuous support in all our initiatives and I am pleased to associate with an organization with strong humanitarian values.”

VPS Healthcare has always been empathetic to human suffering and has also signed an agreement with the Emirates Red Crescent to support their ongoing humanitarian activities in the Middle East, Africa and the Indian Subcontinent.

“We've always been in support with Red Crescent's initiatives and this is just a mere contribution from our side. We are almost nearing 2017, the Year of Giving as declared by H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and I look forward to many such opportunities to give back to the society in the best way possible.” said Dr. Shamsheer.

“UAE is known to have always supported those in need regardless of their race, nationality, or age. The main focus of 2017 will be on strengthening the social responsibility of the private sector thereby giving us an opportunity to contribute back to the country and its people and I'm glad to see the private sector embracing this initiative,” he added.
