aT Center promotes Korean herb Red Ginseng at Korea Festival 2016

Abu Dhabi, UAE, October 29, 2016:  The Korean Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, along with Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation (aT Center) in Abu Dhabi, has initiated steps to educate the UAE residents on the benefits of using Korean Red Ginseng at the Korea Festival 2016, which was inaugurated today. The Korea Festival will take place on three consecutive weekends with the first leg took place on October 28 and 29 at the Abu Dhabi National Theater and from November 3 to 4 at Abu Dhabi Corniche and later in Al Ain.

The annual festival is hosted by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in the UAE to promote Korean products in the country. 

Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea in the UAE, His Excellency Park Kang-ho said, “The objective of the Korea Festival is to treat the residents of UAE to a glimpse of Korean culture. This year it begins at the National Theatre, and will continue at the Corniche, so we will show Korean culture more vibrantly. We are grateful to the UAE Government for supporting our efforts to bring Korean products and cultural elements closer to the UAE.”

This year, the aT Center Abu Dhabi is keen on bringing attention of the visitors to the popular Korean herb Red Ginseng. Considered the most effective form of ginseng available, the Korean Red Ginseng has wide-ranging health-promoting effects on the human body. 

Speaking at the festival, Mr. Myung-Gu Seo, Director General of aT Center Abu Dhabi, said, “We are happy to be part of an event that brings Korean products to the residents of the UAE. The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in the UAE has been instrumental in educating people in the UAE about various offerings from Korea. 

“At the festival, we focus on the magic root Red Ginseng, which is known to be the most potent of all Ginsengs and its health benefits are immeasurable. Experts from the aT Center stall will educate visitors on the benefits of using the herb. Every Korean citizen is a strong advocate of the Red Ginseng as they understand the goodness and benefits of the root brings to their life,” he added. 

Known as a great herbal product, the Korean Red Ginseng is used for numerous health benefits for thousands of years, and it has stood the test of time and gained global attention. The herb is used by Koreans to strengthen their immune system, keep diabetes under control, fight weakness, energize the body, boost mental efficiency and relieve from mental fatigue. The Red Ginseng has also been traditionally used to make natural facial soap. The multi beneficial root is found in various forms for consumption like dried, in a small dose in energy drinks, ginseng tea, and coffee and medicines. The Red Ginseng has been a favourite among celebrities and commoners alike. 

“As always, our priority is to regularize the import and export of Korean goods. With the help of the UAE Government, it has been extremely easy for us to promote various Korean products, mainly consumables,” Mr. Myung elaborated.

Speaking at the special stand promoting Korean Red Ginseng, His Excellency Park Kang-ho added, “The interest has been overwhelming from all communities and we are happy to bring the products here. Besides the huge Korean population in the UAE, we have seen an increased interest from other nationalities. Being a melting pot of different cultures from around the world, the UAE is an ideal market for products from our country,” 

The aT Center Abu Dhabi, as part of its vision to bring all Korean products to the UAE, highlighted the Red Ginseng at its stall in the Korea Festival 2016. The stall featured a video clip of Hwasu Song, a well-known Ginseng Grand Master who enlightened visitors about the production process of the root and its benefits. The visitors at the festival were also provided with the opportunity to explore a wide range of Korean Red Ginseng products, participate sessions led by medical experts and take part in a range of fun games to win exciting gifts. 

The aT Center has established a foundation for the development of the Korean food industry through support for food companies, systematization of food industry information, nurturing of professional workforce since its establishment in the UAE in 2016.
