Dubai, UAE, October 23, 2016:    Telematics Networking and Communications, the region's leading technology service provider, and a part of the Bahri & Mazroei Group, announced at GITEX Tech Week 2016, that it has expanded its partnership with global technology giant Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) to introduce innovative Smart City services for customers in the UAE.

Telematics blends business model innovations alongside HPE's technology innovations in working towards the UAE's Smart City vision. This partnership outlines numerous sets of plans to roll out a slew of initiatives that are directly aligned with the UAE's Smart City initiative.

Commenting on the partnership, Mr. Esam Al Mazroei, Vice Chairman of Bahri & Mazroei Group, said, “We are inspired by the visionary leadership of the UAE; the excellent platforms they have provided us with creates great opportunities for local companies like Telematics to be part of the UAE's global leadership in creating Future Cities that are driven by knowledge. I am excited about our alliance with HPE that holds huge potential in incubating and delivering smart services for tomorrow's UAE economy.”

Mr. Rajiv Dutta, General Manager of Telematics, said, “Today, Telematics in partnership with HPE, is rolling out value-added Smart City services that are set to democratize the adoption of such services in the UAE. Within this, there are three areas that we are addressing with HPE: smart, safe and secure services for future cities. HPE's advanced Composable-IT infrastructure will soon power Telematics' cloud platform that, together with Etisalat's M2M network, will drive the Smart Wi-Fi service across the entire Abu Dhabi taxi fleet, following customer demands for the service.”

“From a safe and secure city perspective, we are also looking to secure a critical asset by developing an advanced all IP video surveillance solution. We have formed an alliance between Telematics, HPE and Milestone – one of the leading video management software providers in the market to accommodate this. This is perhaps one of the very few security initiatives of its kind in the UAE that is being implemented as a true IT program, utilizing HPE's highly secure, reliable, open standards based edge-to-the-cloud compute, storage and network infrastructure, and will set the benchmark for safe and secure city applications in the UAE,” he added.

Mr. Herbert Zierl, Managing Director of HPE Middle East, said, “Customers are on a digital journey, and as a global player in the ICT space as well as being the best technology company on the planet, we want to support their journey and help them create their future cities with our infrastructure story. In a world, which is becoming more and more specialized, this will only be possible by the ability to empower very-well established system integrators like Telematics, and partner with regional application providers and legacy SW companies.”

“This kind of partnerships becomes incredibly important and essential to provide our customers with a complete story. We have a very strong history in the partner ecosystem and very strong credibility brining technologies together, which makes me feel very excited about our recent partnership with Telematics and the strategy we have put together for our upcoming Smart Cities projects,” he added.

“Not only are HPE innovative in technology as a company, but they are also very creative when it comes to engaging with Telematics in developing business model innovations. They have empowered Telematics to transform from a channel partner, to now being a service provider – the Smart Wifi service in Abu Dhabi taxis being a great testament of this transformation. This is just the beginning of journey, but it has already been phenomenal,” Mr. Dutta concluded.
