At Just 980 Grams, the LG gram 15 Weighs the Same as Two Cups of Coffee
Dubai, UAE, September 28, 2016: LG Electronics (LG) has achieved a new technology milestone and a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title for having produced the world’s lightest 15-inch laptop with its LG gram 15. Similarly-sized laptop models produced by 25 other manufacturers and sold in 46 local markets were appraised by the records committee, with the LG gram 15 emerging as the clear winner. Weighing only 980 grams, the LG gram 15 is roughly equivalent to two medium-sized cups of coffee. LG began producing laptops that weighed less than 1kg in 2013 with the gram 13, and followed up with the gram 14 a year later. The gram 15 is the latest model in this series, packing an impressive 15.6-inch screen while maintaining the ultralight design that has made the lineup so successful.
In addition to achieving the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title, the extreme portability and razor-thin profile of the LG gram 15 has earned it a number of other distinctions. The laptop received the iF Design Gold Award and the Red Dot Design Award, cementing its reputation for revolutionary design.
“We are thrilled that our efforts to create the world’s lightest laptop have been recognized by GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS,” said Brian Kwon, President and CEO at LG’s Home Entertainment Company. “Ushering in a new era of portability and convenience, LG’s gram series of laptops combine cutting edge performance with revolutionary versatility and flexibility. LG will continue to innovate and look for new ways to enhance convenience of our laptops as we seek to serve customers and act as leaders in the global premium laptop market.”
