Huawei sees youth as key to the UAE's transformation to a knowledge-based economy

Huawei underpins drive towards a knowledge economy; stress the important role young entrepreuers play in the UAE’s ICT transformation at ICLIE 2016
Dubai, UAE, April 20, 2016: Huawei, a leading global ICT solutions provider, today highlighted the impact of the young generation in the UAE on the country’s move to become an information-based economy at the International Conference on Leadership, Innovation and Entrepreneurship (ICLIE), held in Dubai on April 20-22. Hosted by the Canadian University Dubai (CUD) and supported by Huawei, the event brings researchers, practitioners, and policy makers together to focus their efforts on several key pillars of science, innovation and technology in a bid to form effective partnerships that tackle business challenges in the globalized economy.
Huawei also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with CUD today, extending its long-term commitment to the university as it brings its global expertise in innovation to empower students.

Our partnership with the Canadian University Dubai confirms our support to the youth of the UAE who we see as the enablers of this national strategy.”

Huawei plans to embrace and support the nation’s ICT transformation and continue to develop the young talent in the country through partnerships with the UAE’s academic institutions that will enable Huawei to transfer its know-how and capability to students who will become the innovation leaders of the future in the UAE.
Huawei’s strong legacy of innovation, with more than 176,000 employees globally and over USD$9.6 billion invested into R&D, positions the company as a strategic partner for the country during its digital transformation.
