Love at the finish line! The Color Run™ celebrates marriage and milestones in Abu Dhabi

The Color Run™ presented by Daman’s ActiveLife witnesses its first marriage proposal and reaches the 50,000 UAE Color Runner mark as 8,000 participants takeover Yas Marina Circuit

Abu Dhabi (March 13, 2016) – The Color Run™ presented by Daman’s ActiveLife saw more than 8,000 Color Runners dance through a kaleidoscope of color at Yas Marina Circuit as the ‘Happiest 5k on the Planet™’ celebrated its most surprise-filled edition yet with the first ever marriage proposal.

Led off by everyone’s favourite mascot Runicorn, the color-splattered Nissan Juke cars, professional triathlete and Daman’s ActiveLife ambassador Omar Nour, participants revelled in a triumphant flurry of color at the pink, yellow, green and blue color stations. The euphoria culminated with the Daman’s ActiveLife ‘Rainbow Row,’ the ultimate multi-color station.

Upon crossing the finish line, Color Runners were greeted by the world-famous Finish Festival, where they were blasted with vibrant color and pumping music, driven by 24-time The Color Run MC Max.

And in an exciting twist to the festivities, The Color Run™ presented by Daman’s ActiveLife celebrated its first marriage proposal, as Color Runner Michelle Velasco said ‘yes!’ to AlRen Vincent Bucoy on the Finish Festival stage in front of thousands of ecstatic Color Runners.

AlRen  Vincent Bucoy said: “First off, I knew I had to do something special for her. A couple of friends told us about The Color Run and I thought, what a cool and colorful way to propose. I really wanted to set a time when she was least expecting it. Proposing in front of thousands of people cheering us on at the Finish Festival was such an amazing experience with all of my friends and family there and it will be something I will never forget”.
 
Omar Nour said: “This has by far been the most exciting edition of The Color Run™ yet with the first ever marriage proposal! The Finish Festival is always the best post-5k party on the planet, but this took it to a whole new level - everyone went wild and the atmosphere was incredible.

In keeping with the event’s community focus, $1 from every entry at The Color Run™ presented by Daman’s ActiveLife was donated to Friends of Cancer Patients through the Just Giving platform.
