FCBEScola wins with Al Nabooda Automobiles at Volkswagen Junior Masters Tournament

Dubai, UAE, 2 February, 2016: Local football team FCBEScola were victorious in the first round of the Volkswagen Junior Master Tournament at the weekend, kick-starting their campaign with Al Nabooda Automobiles to take on competitors throughout the region.

Along with runners up, Spanish Soccer Schools, they will now compete against 10 teams from across the Middle East in the regional finals, scheduled to take place on home ground on 17-18 March.

Initiated as part of Al Nabooda Automobiles’ social responsibility commitment to supporting youth and sports in the region, the Volkswagen Junior Masters programme aims to connect young individuals with a passion for sport and encourages children to work together in a team, be active and stay healthy.

“The Volkswagen Junior Masters Tournament is a fun, interactive, competitive way that we can support drive and inspiration in the younger generation, giving children the chance to participate in the beautiful game at a competitive level.

“We were the first distributor in the Middle East to introduce the Volkswagen Junior Masters, and it has gone on to play an important role as part of Al Nabooda Automobiles’ commitment to give something back to our community. 

“The competition, now in its sixth year here, has gone from strength to strength and we are extremely proud to be the driving force behind such an exhilarating tournament.”

Eight teams competed in this year’s tournament, held at the Dubai Sports City Football Academy, including; Desert Rangers, Le Club, M and S Sports, Future Star FC, Dubai Rovers and Go Pro Sports.

2014’s tournament saw Al Jazira Club come out on top in the Dubai and Northern Emirates qualifier and proceed to the Middle East Finals.  The team went on to win the finals and earned themselves a spot in the Rome world finals.

Established by Volkswagen AG in 2004, the Junior Masters is an international youth tournament for boys under the age of thirteen who compete in regional qualification rounds.  Taking place in 23 countries worldwide, the event now includes more than 4,700 players and 333 teams.
