The ski resort offers visitors the only white Christmas experience in Dubai, complete with decorative trees, lights, a Santa’s Grotto, presents, fun festive activities and much more
Dubai, UAE, December 09 2015 – Majid Al Futtaim, the leading shopping mall, retail and leisure pioneer across the Middle East and North Africa, will be providing residents and visitors with the only authentic white Christmas experience in Dubai, as this December sees Ski Dubai transformed into a Winter Wonderland throughout the festive season.
From 8th December, a dedicated area of the ski resort will be filling guests with Christmas cheer, as they will be able to stroll through a magical Winter Wonderland complete with Santa’s Grotto and workshop. With something for the whole family, there will also be a sledging hill to give thrill-seekers that festive feeling as they slide down the snow-filled slope.
Santa himself will also be stopping by to hand out gifts to all of the good girls and boys as a pre-Christmas treat. Little ones can visit him in his grotto, where he will be residing from 11th until 24th December, before he makes the long journey back to the North Pole.
Omar El Banna, Marketing & Business Development Director at Majid Al Futtaim - Leisure & Entertainment, said: “Christmas is a time of year that many residents in Dubai and across the UAE look forward to. For most, the prospect of a white Christmas is something they never thought they would be able to experience in the Middle East. As Ski Dubai is the only place in the UAE where visitors are guaranteed snow at Christmas, we want to ensure it is extra special. The festive season is the time of year for coming together and creating memories with loved ones, and there is no better place to do this during the holiday season than at Ski Dubai. With something to get the whole family in the Christmas spirit the festivities see Ski Dubai continue to create great moments for everyone, every day.”
Ensuring that Christmas at Ski Dubai is bigger and better than ever, this year will see a new interactive addition to the festivities, the Elf Pod. The augmented reality pod will allow children and big kids alike, to elf-themselves and share the fun festive e-cards across their social media channels.
The seasonal celebrations mark a decade of Christmas’ at the much-loved ski resort, as November this year saw Ski Dubai reach the milestone anniversary of 10 years since it opened its doors in Mall of the Emirates in 2005. All of the festivities taking place are part of the brands ‘This Is Christmas’ activity, which encourages visitors to share their visit to the Winter Wonderland on social media using the hashtag #ThisIsChristmas.
The Ski Dubai Winter Wonderland in Mall of the Emirates will be open from 8th December – 2nd January, followed by Santa’s visit from 11th - 24th December. Power Passes are AED 325 per person and include Snow Park access, a Santa visit and the option to book either a penguin encounter, Snow Bullet ride or a ski lesson.
