The gathering was joined by Gerard Seeber, Consul General Dubai & Senior Trade Commissioner for the Middle East and North Africa; and John Butler, Commissioner to the Middle East, Africa and Turkey for the State Government of Victoria, Australia.
The school organized a farewell assembly packed with an impressive line-up of performances by the school’s students and a lunch menu created by the Grade 10 students.
“Mr Pablo Kang has been a valued friend and supporter of VISS for the past four years and we were pleased to say thank you for all the support he has shown the school,” said Mr Dean Pyrah, Principal of VISS.
Throughout his time in the UAE, His Excellency Mr Kang visited the school regularly for major events, assemblies and special VIP and dignitary visits.
His Excellency Mr Kang said: “It is a great pleasure to visit VISS for one final time to meet with the school’s leaders and students. VISS is a prime example of Australian education in the region and I am delighted to witness the growth and commitment of VISS in delivering the best learning tools to enable students to excel.”
His Excellency Mr Kang is a senior career officer of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and has been Ambassador to the UAE since January 2012. He finishes his diplomatic assignment and returns to Canberra in January 2016.
