Supreme Council of Energy studies innovative ideas received from Mohammed bin Rashid Smart Majlis

Dubai, UAE, 26 November 2015: The Dubai Supreme Council of Energy has received 215 innovative ideas and development comments related to energy in general and renewable energy in particular, from the Mohammed bin Rashid Smart Majlis, which was launched by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. The Majlis enables Dubai’s residents and supporters around the world to submit innovative ideas and development comments to make Dubai the smartest and fastest-developing city in the world.
HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Vice Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, commended the ideas received from the Mohammed bin Rashid Smart Majlis.
“I thank all those who submitted their innovative ideas and development comments through the Mohammed bin Rashid Smart Majlis, and appreciate their time and efforts. These ideas and comments help us develop innovative initiatives and creative ideas that will contribute to achieving the Supreme Council’s vision for Dubai to be a role model to the world in energy security and efficiency,” said Al Tayer.
“The Mohammed bin Rashid Smart Majlis, launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, emphasises his commitment to establishing and disseminating a culture of creativity and innovation as a standard practice, and involving the public and stakeholders in providing new innovative ideas to improve performance and achieve the best results. This will contribute to improving services and developing efficiency and performance. This initiative will definitely achieve the vision of our wise leadership to make Dubai one of the most innovative cities in the world,” added Al Tayer.
“The Dubai Supreme Council of Energy has formed a committee under the name ‘Afkar’, which is dedicated to studying ideas and comments received via the Mohammed bin Rashid Smart Majlis, and proactively processing them. Ideas are either implemented, transferred to relevant government organisations, or referred to one of the Supreme Council’s entities. The committee also honours those who submitted the approved or implemented ideas and comments. So far, we have received 209 innovative ideas and six development comments, mostly related to solar energy, wind energy, geothermal energy, and clean coal,” said HE Ahmed Buti Al Muhairbi, Secretary General of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy.

The Mohammed bin Rashid Smart Majlis launched by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, is a smart initiative for Dubai. It allows all society to interact and participate by submitting ideas and comments and answering questions raised by His Highness, as if they were sitting in his traditional majlis.
