Dubai, November 23, 2015: Emirates Post Group launched the Innovation Week with a host of activities and special events at its head office in Al Ramool, Dubai. The activities are taking place on the second floor of the building in a dedicated area themed on innovation.

For the first time, EPG has launched a stamp app that plays a video of the particular stamp when a smartphone is placed over it, using the ‘augmented reality' technology. Ten stamps have been selected for the purpose to highlight the role of innovation in posts.

Another highlight is the VIP Lounge which is hosting a number of corporate speakers addressing the employees on innovation in business and enterprise. There is an Innovation Café designed to help employees offer ideas and suggestion on innovation. All employees have been encouraged to present their innovative ideas.

There is also a cinema corner in which a trainer is conductingbrainstorming sessions on innovation, with participation from four pre-selected groups of employees. They will be joined by students from schools and universities in order to widen the scope of discussions.

In addition, Emirates Post has issued a special stamp on the Innovation Week in co-ordination with UAE Prime Minister's Office, as part of its support to the unique initiative that is boosting innovation at the government and private sector levels. This stamp is also available in ‘augmented reality' format, enabling users to watch a theme-based video by placing the stamp under a smartphone.

Another unique part of EPG Innovation Week celebrations will be Women's Day on November 24, in which Ms. Susanne Taunton, Marketing Manager, UPS (ISMEA), will speak on Innovation among Women.

“Emirates Post Group is very pleased to join the Innovation Week celebrations through a host of unique events and activities,” said Chief Commercial Officer of EPG, Mr. Ibrahim Bin Karam. “These activities reflect EPG's pioneering adoption of new technologies in the fields of mail sorting, counter services and back office support. We are really proud of the National Innovation Strategy (of which Innovation Week is a part) launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE.
