TEDxDubai Salon announces ‘#Amplify—We the Makers, Tech for Good’
An evening of TED Talks, attendee participation and live interaction—showcasing advanced 3D printed human innovations.
Dubai, UAE – TEDxDubai will hold the much anticipated TEDxDubai Salon themed ‘Amplify—WE the Makers - Tech For Good’ at The Yard, Alserkal Avenue, at 7:00pm on Saturday, 28th November 2015.
In collaboration with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, TEDxDubai Salon will showcase the work of 3D printed prosthetics innovator Peter Blinkley and his son Peregrine Hawthorn, from E-Nable Foundation alongside Oscar Caleman, UN WFP FITTEST team, who has been leading some of the latest important connectivity set up during UN WFP rescue and aid operations. The Live talks will be immediately followed by inspirational break-out discussions and 3D printing workshops. The evening’s agenda aims to encourage innovative interaction and participation — amplifying inspirational ideas and groundbreaking innovations, all focused towards improving people’s lives.
Aligned to TED’s global commitment of “ Ideas Worth Spreading”, and in support of UAE Innovation Week, TEDxDubai Salon hopes to achieve just that —exploring the ‘tech for good’ movement by sharing community efforts, all inspired by technology and innovation.
The event’s curator, Natascia Radice, invites individuals, organisations and companies who already own 3D printers, to get in touch to be part of the evening by bringing their printers along to the event to showcase their own creations and join the E-nable call to action for community printing for good. Those interested in being part of it should contact Natascia@tedxDubai.com
TEDxDubai Salon is for the first time open to the public with no pre-selection however registration is required at www.eventbrite.com and all attendees must be +18 years old.
