Emirates Post Group supports Sharjah Stamp Exhibition 2015

5-day event at Sharjah Mega Mall celebrated Sharjah’s selection as Arab Tourism Capital
Emirates Post Group extended its full support to the Sharjah Stamp Exhibition 2015, which washosted by Mega Mall Sharjah, and organized by the Emirates Philatelic Association in November, as part of activities on Sharjah’s selection as Arab Tourism Capital 2015.
Besides putting up a standdisplaying andselling stamps of the UAE, Emirates Post Group created special postmarks promoting the exhibition not only in the UAE, but also in (GCC Countries) Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Kuwait, whose postal administrations also supported theleading annual event.The exhibition attracted more than 50 leading stamp collectors and nearly 30 dealers who displayed some of their most valuable collections.
“Emirates Post Group is delighted to be part of this major stamp exhibition that brings to life the UAE’s and region’s rich philatelic history and legacy,” said EPG Chief Commercial Officer Mr. Ibrahim Bin Karam. “It was great to see so many philatelists and stamp dealers displaying their unique collections. More importantly, we are pleased to celebrate the Arab Tourism Capital 2015 title bestowed on Sharjah, the emirate that has always supported culture and art.”
The exhibition was held on the occasion of Sharjah’s selection as the Arab Tourism Capital 2015. The event highlighted the history of postal services in the UAE and other parts of the world. Visitors also had the opportunity to view Arab and international postage albums, and to examine the stamps that, in their designs, marks and perforations, reflecting the stories of the Islamic, Arab and International civilizations since the postage stamp was first used in the region.
