Dubai, United Arab Emirates: The Middle East’s first developer of high performance luxury sports cars won the prestigious Innovator of the Year Award at the Hot Stuff Awards 2015 held at GITEX Technology Week 2015.
Judges praised W Motors’ Lykan HyperSport car, the Middle East’s first supercar, and featured in the film “Furious 7”.
Ralph R Debbas, CEO, W Motors, said: “I am very excited to be here tonight along with all these brilliant minds. With hopes that our innovations will change the UAE and Arab world very soon! It is an honor to be selected as an innovator in the region with the creation of the first Arab car.”
Mike Priest, Editor, Stuff Middle East, said: “The Lykan HyperSport car was placed front and centre in a major Hollywood blockbuster, but he didn’t stop there, as he has big plans in 2016 to launch a dedicated factory producing the next generation of Supercars right here in the UAE.”
Gadget of the Year went to LG for the OLED 4K TVs. Mr. D.Y. Kim, President, LG Gulf FZE, said: "These awards underscore our commitment to bringing consumers the very most innovative products to better their lives and we are incredibly proud to be recognized for our efforts.”
This year's Hot Stuff Awards were bigger and better, with four new categories honouring gadgets, apps and people in the fields of 3D Printers, Action Cameras, Health and Smart Watch of the Year, and Individual innovation.
