Eau de Lacoste L.12.12 Pour ELLE an iconic Lacoste garment inspires a trio of free-thinking fragrances
Last Update: Thursday, October 8, 2015 : 14:56 (+4GMT)
Dubai, October 8, 2015: It brought freedom of movement and elegance to the ladies’ tennis court. Today, the LACOSTE pleated skirt inspires EAU DE LACOSTE L.12.12 Pour Elle, a trio of fragrances reflecting the three moods of the LACOSTE woman: Natural, Elegant, Sparklingly playful. Just as the pleated skirt is the feminine counterpart to the iconic L.12.12 polo shirt, these new fragrances are the natural partner of the EAU DE LACOSTE L.12.12 For Him, now a global fragrances classic. The LACOSTE values of authenticity, elegance and joie de vivre which are the common core for both male and female versions have been interpreted in a bright and unexpected way to create three new olfactive moods.
THE FRAGRANCES
A pleated skirt can be given a unique twist according to the woman wearing it. This freedom of expression also applies to the fragrances, which reflect three facets of the LACOSTE woman. Around a shared floral jasmine note echoing the timeless feel of a LACOSTE piece, three lively scent structures reflect very different moods - Elegant, Sparkling and Natural - to suit the wearer and the moment.
THE PACKAGING
The iconic LACOSTE colours and the crocodile logo dressed-up with more delicate tones to create the new palette of the EAU DE LACOSTE L.12.12 Pour Elle collection. The EAU DE LACOSTE L.12.12 Pour Elle flacons mirror the streamlined shape of their male equivalent, EAU DE LACOSTE L.12.12, with a lighter, more rounded look.
EAU DE LACOSTE L.12.12 POUR ELLE
ELEGANT
Effortless, confident, classic but always fresh and relevant.
Citrus oils, cassis bud and pink pepper give an instant feel of brightness, mellowed as mimosa brings its softness and femininity to the mix. Base notes of vetiver add a further warm sensuality, with vetiver’s masculinity giving an added edge.
EAU DE LACOSTE L.12.12 POUR ELLE
NATURAL
Uplifting, authentic, warm – and yet constantly surprising.
Coconut accord wraps its warming feel around a delicate construction of raspberry leaves, mandarin and pineapple. The powdery notes of orris bring a long-lasting soul to a fresh, light scent. Discreet yet addictive.
Sweet and playful, with an edge of attitude "à la française".
There is more than a hint of LACOSTE’s French roots in the playful sweet note of macaron at the heart of this scent. Top notes of fruit and spice provide sparkle with an edge, while patchouli adds its sophistication as a base note to this irresistible creation.
INSPIRED BY THE PLEATED TENNIS SKIRT
On the tennis courts of the 1920s, René Lacoste was not the only pioneer. While the French visionary developed his own forward-thinking designs, including the now legendary L.12.12 polo shirt allowing him freedom of motion and an enhanced performance during his games, women players were also aiming for freedom, breaking with convention along the way. By shortening the hems on their pleated skirts, these women followed Lacoste’s lead, combining greater freedom of movement with a radical style statement for the time.
Today, the effortless sophistication of the pleated tennis skirt makes it the iconic design of LACOSTE’s feminine range. With EAU DE LACOSTE L.12.12 embodying the spirit of the polo shirt, the pleated skirt is the inspiration for the new EAU DE LACOSTE L.12.12 Pour Elle trio of fragrances. A constant within LACOSTE’s collections, the pleated skirt displays its freedom to move ahead and its timeless modernity.
THE CAMPAIGN
Freedom, beauty and movement were the keywords for this campaign. In the TV version, the pleated skirt enjoys a playful dance to the sounds of Gloria Jones’ timeless classic, Tainted Love. The skirt shimmies to reveal the three flacons in a fun-filled visual choreography echoing the masculine version of the film. The print campaign was shot in LA by British fashion photographer Jacob Sutton, who chose to express the personality of the three fragrances through the sense of movement captured in each image.
