METALLICS ARE EVERYWHERE

In rich, super-saturated pigments, they glint and shine like precious gemstones.

“I have done them here in shades of ruby, but metallics came in every shade on the fall runways: Deep blue, gold, copper, purple, gunmetal, magenta, turquoise…and not just on nails! There were lame fabrics, iridescent leathers and crushed velvets that amplified the whole effect.” 

A NEW ACCENT
“I've seen a departure from the ring finger accent nail. At Eckhaus Latta show, for instance, we did a different color for each hands; at Charlotte Ronson, we saw flip-flopping moon manicure! So consider the concept of "accent nail" in a new light: Try accented thumbs or pinkies or perhaps your ring and middle finger.”

IMAGINATION RULED THE RUNWAYS

“There was an opulence to the nail art that looked new this season – from outrageous, bedazzled artificial nails at “The Blondes” to the royal Renaissance nails at Badgley Mischka”

“Texture was so important in the clothes this season: there were lush, vintage–feeling fabrics like crushed velvet, fringed suede, feathers and fur, gorgeously juxtaposed with plasticized latex, bejewelled surfaces, lucite and metallics. In fashion and in nails it is all about layering!”

“Metallic – shades of deep blue turquoise and purple metallic, gold & copper –is a huge trend globally. We saw it in New York, London, Milan and Paris. 
I especially loved the reflective metallic turquoise at Karen Walker and the beautiful gunmetal nails at John Richmond."
