Prize-Winning Eataly Dubai Chef Selected to Participate in International Pizza Making Competition in Napoli

Vincenzo Lavecchia only representative from the UAE to participate in ‘The Pizzaiolo World Championship’ against chefs from over 20 countries

Dubai, UAE, 26 August 2015: Vincenzo Lavecchia, the prize-winning pizzaiolo from one of the UAE’s most popular Italian restaurants, Eataly, is set to take part in the international pizza making competition, ‘The Pizzaiolo World Championship’ in Napoli, Italy. Taking place between September 1 – 2, Vincenzo will compete against fellow pizzaiolo’s from over 20 other countries in a bid to be named one of the world’s best pizza makers.

Participating on the heels of his win for ‘Best Italian Pizza’ at the Italian Cuisine World Summit held in Dubai, 2014, Vincenzo has been selected as the only chef’s from the UAE to attend, and will represent Eataly Dubai and its authentic, artisan pizzas on the global stage.

Commenting on his participation in the competition, Vincenzo said: “I am delighted to have been selected to participate in The Pizzaiolo World Championship. Travelling to Napoli to one of the biggest pizza events in the world is a dream, and I look forward to meeting and competing against fellow pizzaiolo in a fun and friendly environment in celebration of the one thing that unites us all – our great love of pizza.”

The 14th edition of The Pizzaiolo World Championship will take place in the Napoli Pizza Village in the heart of Naples, Italy, on September 1-2.
