Dubai, United Arab Emirates (August 24, 2015) Acer wowed Dubai’s blogging community and media with its diverse and stunning range of devices which suit all lifestyle needs at an exclusive blogger event at The Fridge, Dubai’s trendy Al Quoz venue, last Wednesday. The event showcased the Acer Aspire Switch 10E, Aspire R11, Aspire S7 and Aspire E series, all of which are already available for retail around the UAE.
Hosted by Shereen Mitwalli, the event saw tech and style collide with an array of colors at the Acer Inspired By Color event. Bloggers and media mingled, experienced a variety of Acer devices, and participated in fun and colorful activities. A flash mob really got the crowd excited and two lucky bloggers even walked away with an Acer Iconia Tablet at the end of the night.
“At Acer, we spend 10% of our budget on researching how the consumer is evolving and what their requirements are. Our knowledge enables us to develop products and technologies to suit a wide variety of their lifestyle aspects,” said Celeste Gibbens, Head of Marketing, Acer, Middle East and Africa. “We were delighted to showcase our innovations to the UAE’s blogger community; our products are versatile and light, they come in an array of colors and textures, and we never compromise on functionality. We look forward to hosting future events that are as enjoyable and exciting as this one.”
The event showcased four of Acer’s innovative products; the Aspire Switch 10E, Aspire R11, Aspire S7 and Aspire E series. The Aspire Switch 10E and the Aspire R11 are both transformative devices that can be used in four modes - laptop, stand, tent and tablet. The only functional difference between these two devices is that the R11 has a 360-degree rotating hinge, while the Switch 10E can separate the keyboard from the screen with its brilliant Acer Snap Hinge™ 2.
Acer’s sleek and luxurious Aspire S7 Ultrabook, is now even more powerful than before – sporting a super-tough Gorilla® Glass lid, strong unibody design, touchscreen and its "lock-for-touch" hinge, as well as Intel’s new 5th Generation Core™ processor. Additionally, Acer showcased its E series, durable and affordable laptops that come in an array of interior colors and have a textured exterior pattern.
“When I was asked what my favorite product of the evening was, I really was in two minds. I loved the S7; it is such a sophisticated device. But then the R11, with that rotating hinge was such a draw for me, because of its versatility,” said Shereen Mitwalli. “At the end I had to go for the Switch 10E – it was my absolute favorite. I love how Acer has listened to the consumer and pioneered a range of devices that suit a diverse variety of requirements.”
In an event truly inspired by color, Acer intrigued guests with two competitions during the evening. One competition was themed around the most colourful attire, and the other was around an activity in collaboration with Jam Jar. Acer offered the attendees to show off their creativity, and asked the attendees to paint what inspired them in Dubai. In the end, social media influencer Moey Shawash walked away with the prize, “I love to travel and will definitely be using my new tablet to entertain me on my next adventure.”
Acer’s range of products showcased at the #AcerInspiredbyColor event is available from retailers throughout the UAE.
