NBA Stars Beat the Buzzer at Dubai Sports World

NBA Stars Peja Stojakovic and Ricky Rubio to Host Six-day Basketball Academy During Last Week of UAE’s Largest Indoor Summer Sports Venue

Dubai, United Arab Emirates: Dubai Sports World (DSW), the UAE’s largest indoor summer sports arena, and partner academy BasicBall, are getting ready to score the ultimate slam dunk this summer as they prepare to welcome NBA stars Peja Stojakovic and Ricky Rubio. The NBA superstars will be hosting an exclusive six-day training academy alongside certified FIBA coaches from 22-28 August. Budding ballers of all ages and abilities will get up close and personal with some of the most talented players and coaches in the game today, working on everything from basic dribbling and passing, to personal shooting training. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for any basketball fan with 2011 NBA Championship winner, two-time NBA Three-point shootout victor and former FIBA World Champion Peja Stojakovic running shooting sessions. Spanish NBA star and Olympic silver medallist, Ricky Rubio, will also be passing on some top tips and tricks on dribbling skills and Point Guards crafts.

Ahead of his visit to the UAE, Stojakovic commented: “I know basketball is very popular in the UAE so I’m looking forward to seeing what talent is out there at Dubai Sports World. I hold the game very close to my heart and I hope I can pass on some of the skills and knowledge I learnt during my career.”

Groups will be split into four age categories and each student at the academy will get personal coaching and training on their own game. Sessions run from 8am-12pm daily.
