Dubai, UAE, 2 June 2015. Coffee has brought pleasure to the Arabic world and has brought people together for many centuries as they savour and share a moment together. This social custom is just as important to Arabic culture today and this Ramadan, Nespresso will help to create extraordinary coffee moments during this special time. Nespresso pays homage to Arabic culture, customs and taste preferences through traditional art forms, tasteful recipes, special events and promotions. Nespresso will be sure to surprise and delight coffee lovers at this joyful time.
Inspired by ahighly respected Arabic artform,Nespresso collaborated with Saudi artist Majid Alyousef to create a unique and elegant piece of contemporary calligraphy that captures the spirit of culture and tradition. The artwork was created to signify the way that people come together with their loved ones throughout this month and the role that Nespresso plays in bringing elegance and sophistication to these exceptional moments. Just as coffee experts at Nespresso demonstrate world-class quality and expertise with the highest quality Grands Crus, so too does the talented artist reveal skill and imagination with his elegant design.
The sleek and elegant calligraphy mirrors the sensory qualities of the Nespresso coffee blends and symbolizes the word ‘together’, artist Majid Alyousef explains:
“My design depicts the word ‘together’ which is very important to Arabic culture. During Ramadan, there is a strong emphasis on family and friends and coffee is always an important part of this. Coming together takes on a greater significance at this time asmany people will work for half the day and the rest of their time is spent with family. You will see cousins, grandparents, great grandparents - all coming together after sunset to share a coffee and celebrate.”
He goes on to explain: “Coffee is a key part of Arabic culture as it is the first thing a guest is offered when they go to a friend or family member’s house as a sign of hospitality and as a friendly gesture.”
To elevate the coffee experience even further, Nespresso has designed four exquisite recipesfeaturing beautiful spices and fruits that encapsulate Arabic flavours and aromas such as cardamom, nutmeg and dates. With a range of 23 Grand Cru coffees each with their own distinctive flavour profile, there is a Nespresso coffee toaccompany you through each moment of this celebratory month.
Try Cosi, the light-bodied espresso with citrus notes to awaken your senses. Whilst the lanterns are lining the streets at sunset, savour the sweet biscuity taste and smooth sensation of the Decaffeinato Volluto.
For an intense moment, delight in the exceptional spicy and peppery flavour of Kazaar which is ranked 12 on the Nespresso intensity scale, the most intense of all.
Ideal for moments right after breaking the fastis Arpeggio with its strong body and cocoa notes. Try the Arabian Delight recipe, which includes an authentic flair of date syrup to top the ArpeggioGrand Cru.
To bring further moments of pleasure to coffee connoisseurs at Ramadan, Nespresso is offering a series of promotions and events. Sample the delights of Nespresso recipes at demonstrations taking place at Nespressoboutiques twohours after Iftarfrom Sunday to Wednesday.
To give something back to Club Members at this festive time, Nespresso has a range of attractive promotions. Give the gift of coffee at this time of togetherness wrapped in chic Ramadan gift wrap from Nespressoboutiques and online.
