Associate Architect | Concept Design (International Practice) Our client, a globally renowned architectural practice, is looking for a visionary Associate Architect to join their high-octane Concept Team. This role is designed for a design-heavy leader who thrives in the early stages of a project-transforming abstract ideas into iconic physical forms. We are looking for an individual with a "design-first" mentality who can lead the creative charge on high-profile commissions across the Middle East and beyond. The Role As an Associate within the Concept Team, you will sit at the intersection of creative storytelling and architectural rigor. You will lead design competitions and initial project phases, ensuring that every concept is both aesthetically groundbreaking and commercially viable. Key Responsibilities: * Design Leadership: Directing the creative evolution of large-scale projects from initial sketch to finished concept presentation. * Narrative Building: Developing strong architectural narratives that resonate with international clients and stakeholders. * Team Mentorship: Guiding and inspiring junior and mid-level designers, fostering an environment of creative excellence. * Client Engagement: Acting as a key point of contact for clients, articulating complex design ideas with clarity and charisma. * Regional Strategy: Leveraging your knowledge of the Middle East market to ensure designs are culturally relevant and climate-responsive. The Profile * Strategic Visionary: You understand how to balance "blue-sky" thinking with the practical constraints of a brief. * Not a Director: This is an active, "hands-on" Associate role. We are looking for someone still deeply immersed in the design process, not someone primarily focused on practice management or business development. * Communicator: You possess the ability to sell a vision, whether to a jury in a competition or a high-net-worth individual. Requirements
This is a pivotal role that requires a specific blend of regional expertise and high-end design pedigree. * Experience: 10-15 years of post-qualification experience within internationally recognized practices. * Regional Expertise: A proven track record of delivering projects within the Middle East region is essential. * Portfolio Excellence: A diverse and sophisticated portfolio showcasing: * High-rise developments and iconic towers. * Luxury hospitality and 5-star hotels. * Branded residences and high-end apartments. * Bespoke, ultra-prime villas. * Design Stage Focus: You must be a "concept specialist"-someone who excels at the front-end of the design process rather than purely technical delivery. * Software Proficiency: Expert command of Rhino, Grasshopper, Revit, and Adobe Creative Suite is highly desirable.
