The Role You will play a pivotal role focused on owning how platforms are delivered into production across a mature Azure environment. You will take high level architecture and designs and drive them through to production, ensuring they are implemented and operationalised. Client Details A leading organisation based in Abu Dhabi, undergoing significant growth and transformation across its cloud, data, and AI capabilities. The business is continuing to invest heavily in modern engineering practices, automation, and platform maturity. Description * This role is responsible for the e2e software delivery and release capability - from CI/CD pipelines through to the Kubernetes platform and infrastructure underneath it - ensuring everything can be released into production in a controlled, reliable, and automated way * Lead engineering and operations of Kubernetes environments using Azure Kubernetes Service * Build and scale infrastructure using Terraform, ensuring consistency, reusability, and control * Implement configuration management and automation using Ansible * Design and optimise CI/CD pipelines within Azure DevOps, including deployment strategies, approvals and rollback patterns * Take ownership of release management across a hybrid environment, improving structure, governance, and reliability * Act as the technical escalation point for complex platform and production issues * Drive automation across build, deployment, and operational processes using Python, Bash, or PowerShell * Support both Linux and Windows Server environments with consistent configuration and hardening practices * Embed SRE principles, including monitoring, incident response, and continuous improvement Job Offer * A genuine opportunity to act as a technical lead and 2IC, with real ownership and influence * A mature Azure environment where the focus is on optimisation, scale, and engineering quality * A modern tooling environment with continued investment in DevOps capabilities * Clear scope to grow into architecture responsibilities over time
Requirements * Over 7-8+ years experience across DevOps, Platform Engineering, or SRE roles * Proven experience owning e2e delivery across the full SDLC, not just contributing to parts of it * Strong hands on experience with Kubernetes in production, ideally within Azure * Deep expertise in infrastructure as code using Terraform and configuration management using Ansible * Strong experience designing and managing CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps * Experience operating and supporting both Linux and Windows Server environments * Solid background in automation and scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell) * Experience working within highly regulated environments, with an understanding of governance and release controls * Confident operating at a senior level - able to challenge, make decisions and drive outcomes independently * Strong understanding of release management and production readiness
