Ministry of Environment and Water Signs an Agreement with Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government

Dubai-UAE: 2 March, 2015 - The Ministry of Environment and Water has signed a partnership agreement with the Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government (MBRSG) that mandates MBRSG with designing and implementing a senior leadership qualification program for the Ministry’s top management.
The synergy is in line with the Ministry’s efforts to build the capacity of its UAE national cadres and enhance their leadership capabilities. The new partnership will also facilitate the Ministry’s senior management to achieve strategic goals and deliver services with the highest levels of competency, transparency and excellence.
The agreement was inked by His Excellency Abdul Rahim Al Hammadi, Assistant Undersecretary for Support Services, Ministry of Environment and Water, and Dr Ali Sebaa Al Marri, Executive President, MBRSG in the presence of senior officials from both sides.
The two-year Inspiring Leadership program will include 20 participants from the senior leadership across the ministry’s divisions and departments. The officials will go through 10 modules of training that commence in April 2015 and continue till May 2017. The program modules are designed to cover topics such as leadership and strategic thinking, change management, project and resources management, problem solving and decision making.
His Excellency Abdul Raheem Al-Hammadi, Assistant Undersecretary for Support Services, Ministry of Environment and Water, said: “Through our partnership with MBRSG, the Ministry aims to equip its senior management team with advanced skills and qualify them to meet international best standards. We are keen to enable and empower the Ministry’s leadership to articulate the wider vision of the UAE leadership through productive initiatives and programs that optimally utilize human capital and resources.”
He added: “The partnership is also in line with our Emiratization efforts. The Ministry is keen to enhance the skills of our Emirati workforce and upgrade our overall performance as part of a continuing and long-term strategy.”
Dr Ali Sebaa Al Marri, Executive President, MBRSG, said: “We are proud to partner with the Ministry of Environment and Water to help enhance the performance levels of its management and drive their efforts to achieve excellence. We will work closely with the team from the Ministry to build capacity and prepare future leaders by empowering them with the tools and skills they need to tackle current and future challenges. The program will be based on the best international practices. It will also be customized to fulfill the specific requirements of the Ministry. The modules will effectively combine theoretical and practical sessions and offer knowledge and skills that enable participants to maximize their potential and step-up their capabilities.”
