MoU states IHC will be providing construction space for the programme partners to carry out building the sustainable bus stop.
Dubai, United Arab Emirates: The International Humanitarian City (IHC) witnessed a successful deal inked with the Carbon Ambassadors. As per the MoU, the IHC has agreed to provide construction space to Consolidated Constructions Company (CCC) which will be working on the Carbon Ambassador’s sustainable bus stops project.
The bus stops will be created out of used 20ft shipping containers supplied by DP World. These structures would be completely functional and self-sustaining. Thus, putting to good use, and, making the best of waste.
"Carbon Ambassadors program is a unique and innovative project that contributes to the environment sustainability, rationalizing the consumption of resources and in line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice-President Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai”. Said Shaima Al Zarooni, IHC CEO, "We are keen to follow the recommendations of the Government Summit 2015 whichcompatible with the IHC strategy 2015-2021 with Innovate: Humanity platform as we invest in innovation and development to serve the prosperity of our beloved country, and we are very proud to offer our support to the Carbon Ambassadors and wish them well in their future projects."
“The programme has gathered a lot of steam recently, and the Ambassadors have shown tremendous resolve and forward-thinking attitude to get the sustainable bus stop project up and running. All the partners and stakeholders are also playing a tremendous part, and the MoU signed with IHC is a positive step towards the fruition of this project. We had the company ready to construct the structures but lacked a viable space to carry it out. Now, we are completely equipped and raring to go. I wish the Carbon Ambassadors all the best in this project,” HE Waleed Salman, Chairman, Dubai Carbon.
Along with International Humanitarian City and Consolidated Constructions Company, the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) as title sponsor, and furthermore CH2M Hill, Buro Happold Engineering, JAFZA, DSOA, Dow Chemicals and Airlite Paints have come together in support of the project.
