UAE, 16th February, 2015 - Dubai Courts opened its new Personal Status Services Department today (16 February 2015) in Al Barsha Mall. The newly opened service centre falls in line with Dubai Courts continuing efforts to provide the best services to its customers, thereby enabling them to complete their transactions smoothly across various areas in the emirate. His Excellency (H.E.) Expert/ Tarish Eid Al Mansouri, Director General, Dubai Courts, inaugurated the new centre, stressing the significant role played by these new service centres—placing more convenience and faster completion time in facilitating transactions made by UAE nationals and residents as per the directives of His Highness (H.H.) Sheikh Maktoum Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Board of the Dubai Judicial Council.
Al Mansouri added that the opening demonstrates Dubai Courts’ commitment towards excellence, particularly in its provision of legal services. The efforts also fall in line with the move to achieve the highest levels of customer satisfaction and happiness, which is part of the objectives, set by the Happiness Index initiative launched by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. The program aims to provide government services that conform and comply with the highest international standards, which in turn will ensure the happiness and satisfaction of UAE nationals and residents.
Al Mansouri said, “The opening of this new service centre reflects Dubai Courts’ steadfast commitment to play a key role in the success of the Happiness Index initiative and also in fulfilling our vision of pioneering in court work. The launch also comes in response to the increased demand for our services, which totaled to 18,597 transactions in 2014, wherein 6,733 were proofs of marital status, 5,645 were proofs of continuation of marriage, 3,439 were for marriages officiated in court and 1,050 for the determination of heirs. We are confident that the opening of new service centres across the emirate will help us in our efforts to provide our customers with convenient processes that save both time and effort.”
“We are proud to report that the opening of previous service centres across Dubai have resulted in reducing pressure in the courts main offices and has become very instrumental in meeting the needs of customers. The positive results and the overwhelming response has prompted Dubai Courts to plan the opening of more service centres, demonstrating our support for the objectives set by the country’s wise leadership and the unified efforts to provide strategic services that will ensure the happiness and prosperity of people in the UAE,” Al Mansouri concluded.
The Personal Status Services Department in Al Barsha Mall will offer an integrated bundle of services, which includes declaration of Islam; proof of accommodation for minors; kinship and custody; proof of marriage in court; continuation of marriage and marital status; proof of dowry waiver; recognition of contribution in the construction of the marital housing; special power of attorney; legal changing of names and determination of heirs.
