Alpen Capital's musical concert Global Fusion a resounding success

Dubai, February 1, 2015: Alpen Capital and Alpen Asset Advisors hosted their flagship annual musical concert, Global Fusion on January 31, 2015 at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Dubai. Global Fusion is an amalgamation of renditions of classical music instruments and captivating dance performances.  Showcasing the amalgamation of classical fusion and tunes from the dunes, this year's concert featured renowned names from the world of music who came together to present this musical journey from the deserts of India to deserts of Arabia and North Africa. Khalid Jassim Bin Kalban, Managing Director and CEO of Dubai Investments was the guest of honour at the event.

Over the last decade, Global Fusion has brought together talent from across the globe for an outstanding musical experience and has in turn become one of the most sought after events on Dubai's cultural calendar. The concert is also known for highlighting talented UAE national artistes and providing them an opportunity to perform with leading international artistes. 

This year's concert was led by Purbayan Chatterjee, a prominent Sitar player from India. Joining him in this concert were artistes including Bickram Ghosh – an Indian tabla player, who enthralled the audience with his incredible musical concoctions, Michel Seba from Belgium playing his magic on the western drums, Francois Garny who was flawless with the bass guitar and Manuel Hermia who captivated with the saxophone and flute. Khalid al Zaabi from the UAE and Yacir Rami from Morocco were riveting on the Oud along with Manjoor Khan Langa of India who played the dholak. Riveting the audience with the magic of Rajasthan were Deu Khan Manganiyar, playing the Khadtal and Khatu Sapera who performed the traditional Rajasthani Kalbeliya dance. Gambian kora player, percussionist and composer in the UK, Surahata Susso charmed with his tunes from the Sahara.

Alpen Capital has been awarded the Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Patrons of the Arts Award since 2010 for its patronage of the arts. The company began its operations in the DIFC, Dubai eleven years ago and has established a strong regional presence over the years closely working with some of the largest business conglomerates in the GCC and India.
