“I quit my job, sold my car, and got myself a trade license”
Secret PR is proud to announce its official launch in the UAE this February 2015. Following a brief soft launch in September 2014, the agency is set to become the PR industry’s first SOS service. Catering for existing agencies by acting as their affiliate, Secret PR is now armed and ready to assist them with their daily PR needs and emergencies.
Founded by Sarah Mohamed, Secret PR was created in order to combat the common challenges faced by marketing professionals in the UAE. With the high industry turnover rate and toil for short-term assistance, Sarah recognised a niche in the market that needed great attention. “I’ve only been in PR for six years but I could already see the problems many PR agenciesand departments shared. I wanted to help make it easier for them. After a few interviews and surveys, I decided to quit my job, sell my car and get myself a trade license.”
The work at Secret PR will entail an integrated partnership with agencies on PR expertise including media events, press releases, feature pitches and other daily PR activities. Secret PR also offerstwelve exclusive memberships each year that give members top priority status along with other benefits including flexible payment schemes, immunity to weekly project caps and more. A points-based loyalty scheme has also been implemented, allowingloyal customersto redeem discounts of up to 20% off on services for one year.
While the company is still in its infant stage, Sarah Mohamed has high hopes for the future and has already started looking at London and New York for potential expansion plans within the next five years. She adds, “My business model is very simple and it can easily adapt to many of the world’s major cities. Setting up here hasn’t been easy, and I’ve certainly had to hit the ground running, but I’ve had great support and an incredible start to my journey so there’s absolutely no reason why I should slow down my pace.”
