Alubond Tigers lift Mulk Holdings T20 Challenge Cup

DUBAI-October 20, 2014: Alubond Tigers have won the Mulk Holdings T20 Challenge Cup, beating Ibsons CC in the finals. The tournament was organized under the patronage of HH Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Humaid Al Nuaimi and the auspices of Ajman Cricket Council.

In the one-sided final match held at the ICC Global Cricket Academy grounds, Alubond Tigers romped home to victory by 7 wickets.  The winning team reached the target in 11.3 overs.

Batting first, Ibsons could manage to put only 100 runs on board. The team was all out in 19.1 overs. Alubond Tigers struck the first blow in the first over itself and further claiming wickets at regular intervals. Rohan on 26 and Shehzad on 24 along with Misbah on 21 were the top scorers for Ibsons. Alubond bowlers Nasir Aziz, Sultan Ahmed and Amjad claimed two wickets each.

Alubond openers Prasanth Braggs and Shehzad Manna started their innings with a bang with huge hits, their scores being 47 and 38 that included a total of five Sixers and nine Fours. 

The final game was attended by the dignitaries of the UAE cricket fraternity and the delegates of the sponsors, Mulk Holdings. The winner’s trophy was given away by Dr. Shafi Ul Mulk and Amair Ul Mulk, joint venture partners of Mulk Holdings, along with a cash prize of AED 15000.
 
Other major prizes which included cash prizes of AED 500 along with a trophy were for Best Batsman won by Habib Gazi of Ibson. The Best Bowler award was bagged by Nasir Aziz of Alubond Tigers.  

While Shehzad Manna of Alubond Tigers was adjudged Man of the Final, Salman Babar of Interface Transworld won the Player of the Tournament award.
