Middle East and North Africa Interior Design Awards 2014 Honours Bruno Guélaff's Arteco Ceramics Showroom

Renowned interior designer Bruno Guélaff’s project for Arteco’s Dubai showroom wins ‘Best Retail Design’ award

20^th May 2014; Dubai, United Arab Emirates: Bruno Guélaff’s showroom project for Arteco Ceramics won ‘Best Retail Design’ at the Middle East and North Africa Interior Design Awards 2014. A prominent interior designer, Bruno Guélaff designed the showroom of Arteco Ceramics; Arteco is one of the leading UAE-based suppliers of high quality interior products and building materials including ceramics, mosaics, porcelain, semi-precious natural stone materials, and clay roofing tiles.   

The award recognised the outstanding qualities of the space he created at Arteco Ceramics’ Dubai showroom. The competition was judged by leading international design professionals. The awards ceremony was held on the evening of the opening day of INDEX, which runs from the 19-22 May, and is the largest design exhibition in the MENA region. The winning projects were unveiled and celebrated at an awards ceremony and party on Monday 19^th May, hosted by N’Dulge, Atlantis the Palm.

Congratulating Bruno Guélaff, Mohamed El Shamy, Director of Arteco Ceramics said: “This award is a fitting recognition of Bruno’s abilities as a designer, and the beautiful space that he has created for our showroom. As a supplier of interior products and building materials there is an assumption that our showroom might look industrial; but Bruno has really captured our essence. We like to say that we combine art and industry, and presenting our showroom as an art gallery for showcasing our products reflects this well.”

On winning the award, Bruno Guélaff commented: “It is a great honour to have been recognised for my work by such esteemed members of our profession. This event is a great way for industry colleagues to get together and celebrate one another’s success. I am particularly proud of the recent project that Arteco Ceramics commissioned from me. It was a challenge to approach the project from an art gallery perspective. We are all very ecstatic of the outcome.”

The Middle East and North Africa Interior Design Awards recognise and reward outstanding interior design and architecture projects across the Middle East and North Africa. The awards are open to all Interior Designers, Interior Architects, and Architects for design projects located in the MENA region, including Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Oman, Qatar, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, and Yemen. The awards are divided into 15 categories covering the entire spectrum of architecture and design projects across the residential, commercial, retail, hospitality, and leisure sectors.
