AED120million multi-brand facility features latest models from Porsche, Audi and Volkswagen
Dubai, UAE, 4 May, 2014: H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qassimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of Sharjah Executive Council, today officially inaugurated the new AED120million Al Nabooda Automobiles combined sales and after sales centre for the Porsche, Audi and Volkswagen brands.
H.H. Sheikh Sultan was received at the official opening ceremony by H.E. Khalifa Al Nabooda, Chairman of Khalifa Juma Al Nabooda Group of Companies and Mr. K. Rajaram, CEO, Al Nabooda Automobiles, the sole distributor for Porsche, Audi and Volkswagen in Dubai and the Northern Emirates.
Comprising individual Porsche, Audi and Volkswagen showrooms, and a combined after sales centre, the state-of-the-art facility allows Al Nabooda Automobiles customers to benefit from having sales, service facility and spare parts, all in the same place.
“We thank the authorities in Sharjah for their continued support and help in bringing this new facility to life in the emirate,” said Mr Rajaram.
“The new Al Nabooda Automobiles showroom represents our passion and commitment to our customers in Sharjah and reflects the emirate’s role in growing the automobile sector in the region. The opening of the new facility further reinforces our position as one of the leading automotive dealers in the UAE.
“We will continue to provide our customers with the highest level of service excellence for which we are renowned, and our investment in Sharjah demonstrates our commitment to the burgeoning local community.”
The opening of the new Porsche, Audi and Volkswagen centre is the latest phase in an AED900 million investment programme by Al Nabooda Automobiles to expand its operations in Dubai and the Northern Emirates.
The new facility showcases the latest vehicles from the model ranges of the three brands and combines elements from each of their corporate identities, including design, signage and equipment.
The showrooms will individually display 13 Porsche vehicles, 18 Audis and 17 Volkswagen cars, while the workshop has the capacity to service 39 cars at one time and will employ approximately 70 members of staff.
Overall, the current Al Nabooda Automobiles investment programme covers ten individual projects, with the first phase including the world’s largest Audi new car sales terminal which opened in Dubai in November 2012 at a cost of AED118.5million. In February 2014, an AED85.5million combined sales and after sales centre for Porsche, Audi and Volkswagen was inaugurated in Fujairah by H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Hamad Al Sharqi.
Work is now well under way in Dubai on an AED144 million Porsche showroom on Sheikh Zayed Road, and on one of the world’s largest Audi workshops which is scheduled for completion in the fourth quarter of 2014 at a cost of AED133m. Pending final planning approvals, construction will commence soon on an AED256 million vehicle pre-delivery centre and paint and body shop on a massive 130,000sqm site at Jebel Ali which is scheduled for completion at the end of 2015.
The new Porsche, Audi and Volkswagen showrooms and workshops in Sharjah are located on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road near the Sharjah Golf & Shooting Club.
