Avenue at Etihad Towers Hosts ‘Wonders of Central Asia' Exhibition from Alif Art Gallery

Abu Dhabi, UAE, 27 April, 2014: ‘AVENUE AT ETIHAD TOWERS’ – Abu Dhabi’s first standalone luxury boutique destination – is delighted to welcome the Alif Art Gallery from 27th April until 10th May. The exhibition, titled ‘Wonders of Central Asia,’ will showcase pieces from renowned Uzbek artist Sanjar Djabbarov, and will officially launch at an opening reception on Tuesday 29th April.
Born in Gulistan, the capital of the Sirdaria Province in eastern Uzbekistan, Sanjar Djabbarov studied Industrial Design at the National Institute of Arts and Design, graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in 2008. He then joined the ‘5+1’ creative art group at the Art Gallery of Uzbekistan, moving on to working as a trainer at the
Republic College of Professional Design in 2013. His unique pieces are crafted through an experimental approach to creativity, and styled in abstract form. Djabbarov also produces video art, with distinguished pieces that include ‘The Unseen Town,’ ‘Metamorphose,’ and ‘Between Heaven and Earth’.
Throughout his career, Sanjar Djabbarov has received numerous awards and has exhibited worldwide with his first ever solo exhibition ‘Light and Shadow’ taking place at the Youth Creativity Palace in Tashkent. The exhibition at Avenue at Etihad Towers will be Djabbarov’s second show in the UAE, after recently exhibiting for the first time in the Middle East at the 2014 Dubai Art Week.
Visitors are welcome to meet Sanjar Djabbarov at the opening ceremony at 7:00 pm on 29th April 2014 in AVENUE AT ETIHAD TOWERS. The ‘Wonders of Central Asia’ exhibition will be on display from 27th April until 10th May 2014.
Dubai-based Alif Art Gallery was founded by Natalya Andakulova to promote understanding of Central Asia’s rich art culture in the Middle East and beyond.
