Bollywood Singer, Nikhil D'Souza, to Perform at Global Village's Global Barbeque Fiesta

Global Barbeque Fiesta Gives Visitors Chance to Sample the Barbequed Foods from Other Countries While being Entertained by International and Local Performers

Dubai, 4 March, 2014: Global Village, Dubai’s leading family entertainment and cultural destination, is putting on the Global Barbeque Fiesta at Global Village, from 7pm, on the 7th March as a part of its ‘Flavours of the World’ celebrations.

All this is part of the inaugural Dubai Food Festival, which was launched on 21 February taking place across the Emirate until 15 March 2014. It is organised by Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), an agency of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), and is aimed at positioning Dubai as the gastronomy hub of the region.

The Global Barbeque Fiesta will allow visitors to sample the barbequed foods of countries like Egypt, Lebanon, India, Pakistan, Turkey, Thailand and more. These foods will be cooked at live Barbeque stations around the World Culture Stage.

Visitors can expect to experience a carnival atmosphere that will continue throughout the day as visitors sample the great barbequed dishes of various countries, while enjoying the live performance of one of Bollywood’s leading singers and musicians, Nikhil D’Souza. The Indian performer will be performing a bilingual set with both Bollywood and English songs being sung during his concert.

Nikhil D’Souza’s concert will also have a locally based performer singing for the Global Village’s ‘Flavours of the World’ celebrations. ROOH, led by singer Anupam Nair, are based out of Dubai and are well known within the music scene in Dubai and online through Youtube, making them a perfect match to Nikhil D’Souza’s international appeal.

Global Village offers the best opportunities to enjoy great barbequed food from all around the world while enjoying the fantastic music of Nikhil D’Souza. Visitors will also be able to enjoy the carnival atmosphere from wandering around the many pavilion food stalls that are selling snacks from their respective countries. There are also the Level Up and Orbis shows to entertain all the family throughout the day, as well as the many cultural shows that take place at Global Village.

The extension at Global Village is giving tourists and local residents a chance to enjoy the celebratory atmosphere that is in the air when the world comes together to enjoy entertainment, new cultures, and amazing food.
