Dubai, 25 October, 2013: Global Village, Dubai's leading family entertainment and cultural attraction, has introduced a brand new, and first of its kind, exclusively Thai food court to add to the culinary experience available to its visitors.
The popularity of Thai cuisine in the UAE and the surrounding GCC has led Global Village to make the decision that a singular food court was needed. This area will house Goto King; Bread and Sangkayah; Thai Snacks; Papa Junior Thailand, as well as a small waffle shop for some doughy goodness that transcends countries.
With each of the five restaurants in the Thai food court serving up a variety of dishes from their home country, visitors will have a wide amount of choice to make. If a visitor wants to try some Thai specialty seafood, then Papa Junior Thailand will satisfy the taste buds and cravings with some traditional Tom Yam Kung. If you're looking to just pick up some quick fried, yet scrumptious food then perhaps Thai Snacks is your go to place, with their signature breaded crab sticks and shrimp wontons.
For some truly traditional cooking, and for some dishes you may never have heard of before, Bread and Sangkayah has been brought to Global Village to, let adventurous, sweet toothed foodies really try out some exceptionally special food. With a predominantly coconut based menu, Bread and Sangkhaya is the place to be if you want to sample such Thai specialty dishes such as lod chong in coconut milk or the coconut based custard dish, sangkhaya with bread.
Ahmad Al Marri, Global Village Commercial Director, says that the Thai food court is Global Village's response to the demand people have for Thai food in the region. “The overwhelming response we've had towards the Thai snacks stalls in the past made it clear that there was a serious call for Thai food, not only in Global Village, but in the UAE. As a staple attraction for Dubai's tourism industry, Global Village saw an area where we could really satisfy people's cravings for this rich, cultural food from Thailand. This is why we've brought in restaurants that deal with traditional Thai cuisine, and will be able to provide food for those who are well versed in the food of Thailand, and those who are interested in trying it for the first time.”
Global Village is one of Dubai's biggest brands and tourism destinations, with a team of over 10,000 people ensuring the delivery of a fantastic experience for visitors over its 5 month season. It welcomes nearly five million visitors a year and is regarded as one of the region's most popular homegrown tourism and cultural leisure brands.
Located on the Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed highway for ease of access, the Global Village has parking space for 17,000 cars.
