UAE, 4 August, 2013 – Standard Chartered has announced that runners can register for the Standard Chartered Dubai Marathon 2014 from today. With a new route for the race, the event is expected to draw keen participation from both professional and leisure runners from Dubai, the region and across the globe.
The Standard Chartered Dubai Marathon, into its tenth year, will be held on Friday, 24th January 2014. There will be three official race categories – 42km, 10km and 3km - and registration fees are 120, 60 and 15 US Dollars, respectively. Alongside the official distances, the event will include another race category, ‘The Corporate Challenge', specially designed for companies to participate in.
Registration for the Standard Chartered Dubai Marathon 2014 is available online only at www.dubaimarathon.org.
Standard Chartered has been the title sponsor of the Dubai Marathon since 2005. This year's race held in January attracted more than 20,000 runners across the 42km, 10km and 3km distances. Together with the Dubai Marathon, Standard Chartered is title sponsor of nine marathons across four continents.
These sponsorships have allowed Standard Chartered to raise awareness about Seeing is Believing, the Bank's global sustainability programme to help tackle avoidable blindness. This programme has since helped restore the sight of more than 2.5 million people globally, and the Bank has committed to raise USD100 million by 2020.
