Dubai Sports Council announces Launch of the “Arab Elite Cup – U 15” with Participation of 16 Teams

Dubai Sports Council (DSC) has announced that the Arab Elite Cup – U 15, the first football competition of its kind in Dubai, will be organized from 4th to 7th May 2023 at Humaid Al-Tayer Stadium in Al-Nasr Club.
The Championship will take place with participation of several U 15 years old’s teams from the various Arab countries and will be held in collaboration with Delta Co.
The Championship’s details were declared in a press conference, convened at DSC’s premises and addressed by Mr. Ahmed Salim Al-Mahri, Director of Sports Development Dept. in DSC / Mr. Ahmed Al-Kabakibi, Chairman of the Delta Co. – the Organizer Partner of the Championship, in the presence of Mr. Benoit Pasquier, Legal Advisor of the Asian Football Confederation & Arbitrator in the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) / representatives of participating teams from the various Arab countries including managers & players.
Mr. Ahmed Salim Al-Mahri welcomed the representatives of participating teams & the Legal Advisor of the Asian Football Confederation and thanked Al-Nasr Club toward its efforts to host this Championship.
He stated: “We are pleased to organize the 1st edition of the Arab Elite Cup, the first football competition of its kind for the U 15 Arab promising players. It is a very important competition for this age group as it is the age of converting from grassroots to youth stage. The Championship is a unique opportunity for promising players to be acquainted with their technical levels and to compete vs. other Arab players of different skills. DSC endeavors, in collaboration with Dubai clubs, to boost Arab talents through organizing several championships & programs for different age groups, and therefore our clubs have attained remarkable technical development in UAE”.
Mr. Ahmed Salim Al-Mahri added: “We thank Delta Co., with which we also collaborate in organizing the Dubai Open Football Academies Championship with participation of 3000 players. Today we collaborate to organize this new Championship to enable our players meet utmost benefits. The Championship is an eminent addition to the other competitions & events organized by DSC throughout the year. We had organized many championships with participation of prominent world clubs from Europe, America & Asia. Today we are starting new program to provide opportunities for Arab teams to compete vs. each other. This Championship is part of DSC’s strategy to boost sports talents and attract the private sector as fundamental partner to develop sport via organizing of international sports events of eminent impact on the development of juniors program & sports tourism in Dubai”.
Mr. Ahmed Kabakibi remarked: “The Championship is held with participation of 16 teams from 6 countries; as follows: Al-Nasr, Shabab Al-Ahly, Al-Wasl, Hatta, Al-Wahda, Dubai City, Empire & Al-Fursan from the UAE / Al-Safa & Tripoli from Lebanon / Al-Hussein Irbid, Amman & Al-Fursan from Jordan / Al-Tarji Al-Zarjisi from Tunisia / Al-Arabi from Kuwait / Al-Markhiya from Qatar. The competitions will be held as per rules & regulations applicable in FIFA and the UAE Football Association. Each local team will play vs. Arab team in order to enable our players acquire distinctive experiences & improve skills. We are planning to increase the numbers of participating teams in the Championship into 32 teams in the future. We thank all clubs which have supported the organization of the Championship”.
The Arab clubs’ representatives expressed pleasure toward their participation in the Championship and confirmed its importance since it is allocated for an important age group who will acquire several benefits from this event including improvement of skills & experiences. They have also thanked DSC & the organizing company for providing them unique opportunity to participate in the event.
The Championship’s Cup has been unveiled during the press conference. It is as per draw procedures, participating teams have been classified into four groups; as follow: the first group comprises Al-Nasr – UAE, Al-Markhiya from Qatar, Al-Fursan of Jordan & Dubai City / the second group contains: Shabab Al-Ahli, Al-Arabi from Kuwait, Oman of Jordon & Al-Fursan from UAE / the third group is joined by Hatta, Al-Tarji Al-Zarjisi from Tunisia, Al-Hussain of Jordon & Al-Wehda from UAE / fourth group is composed of Al-Wasl, Al-Safa & Tripoli from Lebanon and Empire of UAE.
