Dubai Municipality wins Asia Pacific award for Best Project Management Office

Dubai - 07, September 2021: Dubai Municipality won the award for the Best Project Management Office in the Asia Pacific for the year 2021 at the PMO Global Awards. The Municipality was crowned with the title among more than 40 international organizations that competed to be ranked among the best in the world.
Heba Al Shehhi, Director of the Project Management Office in Dubai Municipality, pointed to the most important factors that contributed to the achievement of winning, namely the support of the senior leadership and joint cooperation with all sectors in the Municipality, in addition to the distinguished capabilities and expertise in the Project Management Office.
She said the Project Management Office comprises of experts in project management and national cadres distinguished by the skill and sense of leadership from young onwards to achieve excellence and commitment to continuous development, as well as looking forward to best practices and the adoption of the latest smart systems specialized in program and project management.
The Project Management Office in Dubai Municipality was established under the directives of Dawoud Al Hajri, Director General of Dubai Municipality in 2018, believing in the importance of the pivotal role that project management plays in achieving visions and business excellence, and supporting the implementation of the strategic plans and government priorities, in addition to the importance of having a comprehensive, renewable and effective institutional system and methodology for project management in various business sectors, characterized by flexibility, institutional agility and the ability to adapt and keep pace with local and global developments.
The award is organized annually by the PMO Global Alliance, which was established in 2017. It is one of the world's leading professional communities for PMOs, with members in more than 100 countries.
