Men's Health in the Spotlight During Movember Campaign at Bawabat Al Sharq Mall
Last Update: Sunday, November 1, 2020 : 16:51 (+4GMT)
United Arab Emirates - November 01, 2020: The awareness campaign in November inspires men to overcome their fear of testing for critical health issues.
As every year goes by, health issues related to men are gaining attention worldwide. That's because most men do not discuss their health issues, don’t take action, and die too young, that too when most of the deaths are largely preventable.
Bawabat Al Sharq Mall launches its Movember campaign during November to help men live happier, healthier and longer lives. The "Face Your Fear, Get Tested Today!" initiative urges men to undergo early check-ups for the prostate and testicular cancer. As part of the campaign, informative webinars will be organised by Ambulatory Healthcare Services and Friends of Cancer Patients - SHANAB.
In the UAE, Prostate cancer is the third most common cancer and the Testicular cancer is the most common cancer in men between the ages of 20 and 35.
Worldwide the key activity of Movember is growing moustaches and beards in November to raise awareness. But, in the current scenario where masks are mandatory due to Covid-19 protocols, the moustaches will be covered. As an alternative, Bawabat Al Sharq mall will be distributing special Movember masks for free. These masks will have a moustache printed on them.
Online visitors can join the campaign by drawing the moustache on their mask, taking a selfie with the mask on their face and tagging themselves for a chance to win various prizes from the Mall and its partners.
The Movember Campaign at Bawabat Al Sharq Mall is being held in collaboration with Ambulatory Healthcare Services, SEHA, and Friends of Cancer Patients - SHANAB Initiative and supported by Fayendra Jewellery & Watches, Metrofitt Men’s Gym and White Fit Nutrition.
