Dubai, United Arab Emirates, September 06, 2020: RAK Hospital has been conducting regular Covid-19 screenings for all 525 of its staff members for several months now, as part of its intensive efforts in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.
The hospital’s extra measures and precautions make it one of the very few healthcare institutions in the country – not just in ensuring the health and safety of its patients – but also putting equal emphasis on the health and wellbeing of all its employees.
Dr Raza Siddiqui, Executive Director, RAK Hospital, said: “Since the beginning of the pandemic, all members of our staff get screened at least once a month, and the frontline staff even more frequently. The aim is to alleviate our patients’ fears, as they are assured of being in safe and infection-free hands, while at the same time guaranteeingand safeguarding the health and wellbeing of our employees.”
Dr Siddiqui noted: “Hard times happen and getting past them is a mental game we must win. This is the message we want to convey to our people, various stakeholders, as well as patients.
“When the pandemic began it was vital to create a safe and protected environment for our employees first. Numerous things were done, to create a positive ambience for managing the adversities faced due to the pandemic situation, beginning with compulsory monthly tests for all our employees,to setting up a special quarantine facility, complete with all amenities for the employees. We also ensured that there were no layoffs, salary cuts or decrease in privileges for any of the staff members as our employees’ happiness remains our top priority,” said Dr Siddiqui.
Furthermore, RAK Hospital, in line with its principles of zero tolerance is taking maximum precautions during the pandemic period and followingthe strictest protocols of infection control.
As such, the hospital staff is on medical high alert, with substantially enhanced cleaning protocols in place, while physical access to the hospital premises has been radically restricted to patients and hospital staff only, thereby reducing the risk of contamination to a minimum.
RAK Hospital is also working on deploying robots to disinfect its hospital facilities without any human intervention and in a short span of time, resulting in complete and exhaustive sterilisation.
“Patients are still reluctant to visit a healthcare facility and are delaying or foregoing critical procedures, in spite of facing serious health issues. However, we want people to know that it is crucial that they attend to their health, without losing sleep over catching the virus,” said Dr Siddiqui.
He added: “On account of the additional health measures that we have taken, patients can visit RAK Hospital with full confidence since we have achieved and guarantee a Covid-free environment where patients are in contact exclusively with healthcare workers who have tested negative for the virus. Our environment is safe, our staff is safe. You can trust RAK Hospital as you are in safe and infection-free hands.”
