Abu Dhabi Health Services (SEHA) to expand and integrate kidney care

Abu Dhabi, September 22, 2019:   Abu Dhabi Health Services (SEHA) has today unveiled plans for a world-class kidney care service at SEHA Kidney Care (SKC), previously known as SEHA Dialysis Services (SDS) centers – from preventing kidney disease through peritoneal and hemodialysis, to kidney transplantation. This integrated and comprehensive service expands the center's current offering as part of a long-term strategy to enhance kidney healthcare provision.

This move builds on over a decade of delivering cutting edge dialysis services in Abu Dhabi and takes advantage of a deep level of collective knowledge and expertise. Building on SEHA's heritage and first-class track record for specialist care, SKC will also invest in research and training to further enhance skills and deliver new services to the community.

Dr. Gareth Goodier, Group CEO of SEHA, said: “We are committed to accelerating the delivery of world-class healthcare services for Abu Dhabi and the UAE community. Our vision is to provide integrated and holistic renal services to deliver the best patient outcomes, while also improving foundational services such as community education about the risks and treatment options to improve early detection and diagnosis. We have an ambitious strategy in place and a talented team to realize our vision, with safety and quality at the forefront.”

Dr. Ayman Madani, Acting Deputy CEO of SEHA Kidney Care, commented: “By implementing this new strategy, and through enhanced management and monitoring, we will be able to provide the full spectrum of renal services that patients need. In line with SEHA's guiding philosophy, SEHA Kidney Care continues to put patients first while focusing on quality through advanced, cutting edge capabilities.”

SEHA Kidney Care will continue to deliver its services from the existing centers – Mafraq Hospital, Sheikh Khalifa Medical City and Tawam Hospital.
