Dubai, United Arab Emirates - May 13, 2019: His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, Vice Chairman of Dubai Sports Council, has congratulated His Highness Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, and owner of Manchester City, following the club’s second successive English Premier League title and the fourth overall since his purchase of the club in 2008.
“Under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Manchester City have become the number one club in England and one of the foremost in Europe, and this second successive English Premier League title is a confirmation of their status.
“This is Manchester City’s fourth league title under the leadership of HH Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, and they have won three League-Cup doubles as well since the takeover in 2008. The list of Manchester City’s trophies under HH Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed has now gone up to 11, and it could reach 12 before the end of this week because Manchester City play Watford in the FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium on Saturday, May 18. If Man City win on Saturday night, it will be their first treble in history.
“I would also like to congratulate His Excellency Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, the chairman of Manchester City Football Club, for his success in implementing the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan to build a top club that wins titles in England, and to establish a great sports group which is now a symbol of success and excellence in the world.”
