March 15, 2018: The Middle East Facility Management Association (MEFMA) has announced that it has formed a new category for its members, the Strategic Corporate Members, and established the Strategic Corporate Members Committee, which would include MEFMA’s pioneering members. MEFMA said it reflects the Association’s focus on developing new opportunities for strategic engagements by the corporate sector and enhance their role in developing the FM industry.
The recent development, announced during a reception held on March 14, 2018 at The Viewing Deck, The Palace Downtown Hotel in Dubai, is in line with its efforts to further consolidate the regional FM industry in various initiatives including research, educational programs and formulating sustainable FM strategies.
Jamal Lootah, President, MEFMA, said: “As the regional facilities management sector continues to evolve, it is an opportune time to thank all the association’s members for their continuous efforts and commitment to push for growth in the management of the built environment and relevant sectors. MEFMA is steadfast in implementing sustainable FM strategies and the members’ contributions are undoubtedly significant towards an integrated management of all aspects of the FM sector and in attracting global leaders to become part of our regional activities.”
The Founding Members’ Reception also honoured MEFMA’s founders and their contribution to the organization’s success in the last eight years since inception. MEFMA has 11 Founding Members: Apleona; Chicago; Cofely Besix Facility Management; Emrill Integrated Facilities Management; Enova; Imdaad; Interserve; Khidmah; QBG Facilities Management; Untied Facilities Management and Wasl Asset Management Group.
Ali Al Suwaidi, Vice President, MEFMA, commented: “Recognizing and valuing the efforts of our members is critical to MEFMA’s growth and the regional FM sector as our members are the most effective advocates of FM within their area of influence. It is necessary for us to acknowledge the day-to-day efforts which lead to educate the different stakeholders about the importance of FM best practice on the whole life cycle of any facility. We are confident that the growing network of our members will continue to propel the region forward as a sustainable hub for FM best practices toward supporting the various real estate, retail, government, healthcare and education sectors amongst others.”
MEFMA reaches out to members and governments across the Middle East, providing conferences, networking events, and certifications to help shape a sustainable built environment today and for the next generation. MEFMA was formed under the Dubai Association Centre (DAC), an initiative led by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry’s Dubai Business Events – part of Department for Tourism and Commerce Marketing – and the Dubai World Trade Centre.
