Dubai Heath Authority healthcare facilities received award for moving towards an electronic system.

Dubai and Rashid Hospital as well as 12 DHA primary healthcare facilities etched their mark on the hospital digital roadmap by obtaining EMRAM level 6 certification. 

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, November 12, 2017 :  Healthcare entities in Dubai that have implemented best practices in electronic implementation of medical records were awarded at a ceremony that was held today at the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Academic Medical Centre in Dubai Healthcare City.

Healthcare entities were awarded based their EMRAM score. EMRAM is accepted today worldwide as an international benchmark to stage hospital’s electronic efforts. The model uses a 0-7 stage scale to rate hospitals based on the extent to which they have adopted a paperless, digital system. Stage 7 means the hospital is a digital hospital

DHA’s facilities, including Dubai and Rashid Hospital as well as 12 DHA primary healthcare facilities etched their mark on the hospital digital roadmap by obtaining EMRAM level 6 certification. 

DHA’s primary healthcare centres that received an award include Al Badaa,  Al Barsha, Al Khawaneej , Al Lusaily, Al Mamzar, Al Mankhool, Al Mizhar,  Al Towar 
 Al Safa, Nad Al Hamar , Nad Al Sheba Health Center and Za’abeel health centre.

His Excellency Humaid Al Qutami, Chairman of the Board and Director-General of the Dubai Health Authority and Harold Wolf, President and CEO of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) presented the awards and congratulated the winners on achieving efficiency in moving towards a paperless system. 

The award ceremony was part of the activities of the UAE eHealth Week that is organized by Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Middle East and supported by DHA, UAE Ministry of Health, Abu Dhabi Health Services Co.(SEHA), Dubai Healthcare City, Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences and Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. 

Al Qatami, said: “Creating a robust e-Health ecosystem is in line with our vision to support the UAE’s digital economy and innovation strategies.  These strategies and initiatives are in line with the vision of   His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, Their Highnesses Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates. 

“Achieving sustainability in a complex ecosystem such as the health sector relies heavily on obtaining real-time information, developing clear insights of current trends and constructing predictive models to anticipate future deviations. These are the pre-conditions to attain information-driven healthcare organizations, which not only keep up the pace with ongoing changes in the healthcare business but exhibit resilience and agility,” he said.

The award ceremony also awarded private healthcare providers that have successfully achieved electronic integration based on the EMRAM score.
