Dubai, 31 October 2017: The Emirates Post Group held its second Change Retreat of 2017 at the Group's headquarters in Dubai. The ‘Motivated to Change’ retreat, held to develop the corporate culture of change at EPG, was inaugurated in the presence of the Group’s Acting CEO Abdullah Mohammed Al Ashram and the top management team.
The participants reviewed the outcomes of the previous retreat, which was held in the first quarter of 2017. They also looked at important organizational factors that influence performance and productivity, created goals and key indicators to measure the desired transformation, and identified priorities for supporting change in the corporate culture.
Mr. Abdullah Al Ashram said, “Previously, the Emirates Post Group focused on a strategy to develop postal and digital services, and set clear strategic objectives to be achieved by 2021.”
He said there was a pressing need to enhance EPG’s corporate culture and to support development in the postal, logistical and digital services by empowering team members to sustain development - the main driver of change - and by identifying what roles employees will play in meeting current and future challenges.
He added that staff from different sectors participated in the Change Retreat in order to establish an integrated system. The system will take the outlook for the future into consideration while encouraging innovation and boosting positivity and happiness. This will also help employees become better acquainted with the performance indicators for the next five years.
He said the change in the corporate culture is based mainly on customer satisfaction and happiness, but it is also connected to employees’ involvement in EPG’s strategic plan. The culture should develop digital services and educate employees… Changes must take place at all levels, with a focus on promoting the group’s goals and objectives through accountability, with effective leadership that can rise to challenges.
