4th Emirates Economic Planning Forum to discuss ways in promoting UAE investments to advance economic growth

UAE, October 16, 2017- The 4th Emirates Economic Planning Forum-Ajman, themed ‘Overseeing the Future in Light of New Economic Changes’, is set to take place on November 1 and 2, 2017 at the Emirates Hospitality Center in Ajman, under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Ruler of Ajman and Member of the Federal Supreme Council. The two-day forum is held with the support from the UAE Ministry of Economy and the Department of Economic Development – Abu Dhabi.
The first day of the forum will have three sessions, kicking off with the opening activities which include welcome speeches by the organizers and partners, followed by two working sessions. The first working session will discuss the topic, ‘New Economic Transformations and Their Implications’, which covers several developments including government initiatives in Blockchain technology, sharing economy, challenges of living in smart cities, as well as 3D printing and its economic implications. The session will also feature a panel talk followed by an open discussion with the audience.
The second working session will focus on promoting economic growth and UAE’s competitiveness, examining the country's concerns considering regional and global challenges, including the role of innovation in enhancing competitiveness based on the UAE’s experience. It will also highlight the integration program to support innovation in Abu Dhabi. The session will also conclude with a panel discussion and interaction with audience.
The third and fourth working sessions will occupy the second day of the event, starting off with the development planning in Ajman and will discuss the Ajman Strategic Plan 2021, highlighting its strategic initiatives in enhancing the role of the private sector to achieve sustainable development in Ajman. It will also talk about the investment and export of services at the Ajman Free Zone, and the urban planning and infrastructure development in the emirate. The session will end with a panel discussion and interaction with the audience.
The fourth and last working session will showcase the UAE’s plans and programs aimed at attracting investments, focusing on the UAE Investment Map as well as showcase the best experiences in attracting foreign investments to the UAE. The forum will conclude its agenda with an announcement of key recommendations and compliments for the keynote speakers and sponsors.
