Dubai Health Authority receives Canadian delegation at Dubai Future Accelerators.

- Pilot projects in telemedicine, artificial intelligence, big data etc. planned to take place in Dubai over the next few months.
- Canadian technology firms to carry out these projects in conjunction with Dubai Health Authority.
- Exchange of expertise and knowledge in healthcare technology and education discussed.
Dubai, United Arab Emirates, October 11, 2017: Senior officials from the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) recently received a delegation from Canada at the Dubai Future Accelerators office.
The delegation was led by the honourable Dr Eric Hoskins, Minister of Health and Long Term Care in Ontario, Canada. High-level officials including Emmanuel Kamarianakis, Consulate General of Canada in Dubai.
The two sides discussed ways to explore and enhance cooperation between the two countries in the field of healthcare.
His Excellency Humaid Al Qutami, Director-General of the Dubai Health Authority highlighted that both sides firmly believe that health innovation is a vital component that will drive growth and sustainability for the health sector. “ Exchange of knowledge, know-how, expertise, manpower and training is the way forward to provide patients with cutting-edge innovation solutions. These solutions not only benefit patients directly but also help the overall health sector.”
Hoskins discussed ways to strengthen mutual commitment in innovation using new technologies to strengthen healthcare systems. “ We believe both sides have a lot to gain from such collaborative efforts. We have strong and positive relations with Dubai and we really appreciate the vision of the Emirate as it strives to be the best in the world in healthcare, not just for its people but to serve patients globally. We have several healthcare firms that have strong expertise in innovative technology and there is a lot that can be gained through such collaborative efforts.”
He highlighted that the top fields to collaborate in the health sector include telehealth and telemedicine, blockchain technology that allows improvements in data management, medical records etc.; human resources, training and education, innovations in technology like artificial intelligence etc.
