Dubai Customs showcases latest projects to DM delegation

Dubai, UAE, 21 May 2017: In exchange of expertise and to enhance cooperation between Dubai government department, Dubai Customs received a delegation from Dubai Municipality.
The visitors were received by Juma Al Ghaith, Executive Director of Customs Development Division at Dubai Customs, Ahmed Al Yaqoubi, Projects Delivery Director, and a number of heads of departments at the Customs Development Division.
The delegation was headed by Ahmed Obeid Al Falasi, Assistant Director General for Corporate Support Sector.
Juma Al Ghaith reaffirmed the significance of mutual cooperation and exchange of knowledge and experience between Dubai government departments. He added that Dubai Customs follows the latest international standards in developing its projects following the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, which aims at making people’s life easier and making them happier.
The visitors were briefed on the methodology followed by Dubai Customs in developing projects. Ahmed Al Yaqoubi talked about the procedures and steps that the Projects Delivery Department at Dubai Customs follows. This includes a need analysis and benefit specification tools to adapt this to the strategic goals. Best use of resources was also one of the highlighted topics during the visit.
The visitors were also briefed on the virtual calculation scheme and the risk engine, and the two parties discussed the possibility of applying this at Dubai Municipality.
The visitors applauded the maturity of Dubai Customs’ projects which made it one of the leading customs administrations worldwide and an example to follow by different government departments in the UAE.
