- The department scoops first place in ‘Happy Customers’ and ‘Technologies’ categories
Dubai, United Arab Emirates 17th May 2017: Dubai Land Department (DLD) has won two prestigious titles at the Ideas Arabia Competition 2017, which was launched by the Dubai Quality Group in 2006 to celebrate ground-breaking innovations that have been implemented by institutions over the past year and achieved qualitative results. DLD won first place in the ‘Happy Customers’ and ‘Technology’ categories for its ‘Real Estate Services Trust’ and ‘Rental Disputes Center’ initiatives respectively.
His Excellency Sultan Butti bin Mejren, Director General of Dubai Land Department, commented: "DLD’s participation in this competition is aligned with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to foster innovation, creativity and sustainable development, and invest in human resources to develop a road map for reaching new heights of creativity. Winning these two awards reflects our commitment to making innovation a common culture at DLD and all of its departments, as well as a daily practice among all our employees, to further the aspirations of our wise leadership and serve the UAE society.”
His Excellency Judge Abdulqader Mousa, Chairman of the Rental Disputes Center (RDC), added: “We are honoured to have won these awards, which are testament to our success in fulfilling our mission and duties according to RDC’s vision. RDC has proven its important role in establishing trust and confidence among various parties including landlords, tenants and investors, and will continue to improve its operations through the adoption of best practices in intelligent litigation.”
RDC was established in 2013 as the legal arm of DLD to support the department’s future development plans and provide the flexible plans and mechanisms it needs to progress. RDC deals with real estate issues rapidly and with the highest level of accuracy and transparency, representing a specialised judicial system for rental disputes and developing procedures for handling them effectively in order to ensure social and economic stability and sustainable development in the Emirate.
DLD has also launched the ‘Real Estate Services Trust’ initiative and deployed it in multiple areas of Dubai, delivering all of the services provided by the Department and its subsidiaries to the highest international standards. The initiative aims to facilitate communication with customers, representing an innovative way to provide customer services under one roof and eliminating routine procedures to save time for customers. The centres provide a wide range of services in a fast and accurate manner, and are managed by highly experienced staff from various fields, welcoming customers six days a week and 12 hours a day.
The Ideas Arabia Competition aims to identify the most important innovations implemented by institutions during the year, and to honour and appreciate the organisations and staff that provide the best of these ideas. The competition also aims to further the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to promote a culture of creativity and innovation via the launch of institutional ideas. This year's edition included 11 categories, the most prominent of which were ‘Year of Giving Initiative’, ‘Education’, ‘Environment’, ‘Public Health and Safety’, and ‘Happy Customers’. Other categories included ‘Technologies’, ‘Productivity’, ‘Cost Reduction’ and ‘Rationalization of Consumption’, as well as ‘Executive Leadership’ and ‘Idea of the Year’.
